How does Vacation YTD calculate vacation hours?
Description
Cause

Reports and payroll checks showing an amount in vacation YTD that differs from the Vacation Remaining amount.

Resolution
  • Vacation YTD amount is based on how many vacation hours have been accrued on each pay check for the year up to the current pay period.
  • If vacation hours have been taken or used, then the vacation remaining amount will naturally be different as Vacation YTD doesn’t take that into consideration. This is especially true if the Vacation Remaining amount is in the negative.
  • See How do I find the number of vacation or sick hours taken? for more information on finding out where these amounts reside in payroll reports.
  • See Vacation Accrued doesn’t show the employees vacation hours for more information if the Vacation-Accrued field isn’t showing any hours.
