| Cannot start the Actian service after fresh install |
Cause | Windows Management Instrumentation is keeping Actian from working properly. |

- Start, Run. Type services.msc and select OK. Scroll to Windows Management Instrumentation.
- Right-click on Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and select Restart.
- Once WMI is restarted the Pervasive Service should be able to be stopped, started or restarted without error. Refer to Article ID 10281: DocLink: How to stop or start the Actian / Pervasive service
