Cannot start the Actian service after fresh install
Description
Cause
Windows Management Instrumentation is keeping Actian from working properly.
Resolution

  1. Start, Run. Type services.msc and select OK. Scroll to Windows Management Instrumentation.
  2. Right-click on Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and select Restart.
  3. Once WMI is restarted the Pervasive Service should be able to be stopped, started or restarted without error. Refer to Article ID 10281: DocLink: How to stop or start the Actian / Pervasive service
