Important Consideration:
This process is complex. Please read this entire article before attempting to reinstall Sage 300 on the server. If any step is unclear, contact your business partner or Customer Support for assistance before you begin this process.

  1. Make a backup of all Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate program and data files. Refer to What files and folders do I need to backup for Sage 300 CRE Accounting Products 9.5 and later?.
  2. From Sage Desktop, go to Help and About Desktop (or from TS-Main, Help and About TS-Main). Verify CD version, revision, and update version. Locate or download appropriate installation and update files.
  3. From the Windows Start menu, select Control Panel, Programs and Features and uninstall Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate Server.
  4. Reboot the server and login with full administrative rights.
  5. Optional: We recommend these steps if a corrupt install is suspected.
    1. Rename the following folders:
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Timberline Office
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Sage
      • On 32 bit OS, the above folders will be located under C:\Program Files\ instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\
    2. Rename the following registry keys:
      1. Right-click the Windows Start button, select Run.
      2. Type in regedit and press Enter.
      3. Right-click and select Rename on each key.
        • HKEY_Current_User\Software\Timberline
        • HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\Sage
        • HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\Timberline
        • On 32 bit OS, the Local Machine keys will be located under HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\
  6. Browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Timberline Office\9.5\Accounting\ and rename or delete the Wininst folder.
  7. Optional: If you are reinstalling due to an activation issue. Complete these additional steps:
    1. Reboot the server if not already prompted to do so.
    2. Browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Timberline Office\9.5 and rename or delete the Screen folder if it still exists.
    3. Browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Timberline Office\9.5\Accounting\Misc folder and rename or delete the TS.APL file.
    4. If you are using Version 17.1 Rev 4 or earlier, you must manually reenter activation codes. Do not use the AccActivation.xml file to import activation codes.
  8. Begin a new server installation from the installation files.
  9. Verify the registration name, client number, software country.
    • You will need to manually reenter the activation codes. (Versions 17.1 Rev 5 and later use License Administration which will pull customer application entitlement)
    • You may or may not need to enter registration name.
    • If the client number is incorrect, browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Timberline Office\9.5\Accounting\Misc folder and modify the client number in Client.txt and restart the install.
  10. Complete the install. This may require a reboot.
  11. Apply any previously installed patch updates.
  12. Launch Sage Desktop (or TS-Main) and login once the system verification finishes.
  13. If there were any changes to the modules installed or version you may need to reinstall the workstations. See How do I remove Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate client from a workstation?
