IMPORTANT: Start with master article 105554 DocLink: Double exclamation marks (!!) appear on the Current Ledger or Year-to-date Ledger in General Ledger (MASTER ARTICLE) before proceeding with this one.

  • If a brand new current.glt file has already been created, use Move Entries, Current to Current as follows:
    1. If the Ask Name box is already marked from the steps above, proceed to step 2. Otherwise do the following:
      1. From the File menu, select Company Settings, File Locations.
      2. Mark the Ask Name box for GL Transaction, then click OK.
    2. In General Ledger from the Tools menu, select Move Transactions, Current to Current.
    3. Select the renamed file for the Source File Selection then click Open.
    4. Select current.glt for the Destination File Selection then click Open.
    5. Enter a Cutoff Date that will capture all the transactions. Any transaction with an accounting date on or before the Cutoff Date will be moved. Remember that General Ledger allows 6 future periods to post.
    6. Click Start.
    7. When the process if finished, from the Inquiry menu, select Entries. If the renamed file name is no longer there, this means that everything moved. If the file name is still there, open it to view what didn't move, then repeat the process with a Cutoff Date that will capture the remaining entries.
    8. Once everything is moved, from the File menu, select Company Settings, File Locations.
    9. Clear the Ask Name box for GL Transaction then click OK.
  • If a current.glt file does not exist, use File Tools to rename the file back to current.glt.
