Option 1: Reboot the computer
- Reboot the computer.
- Run the installation again and verify that the installer starts.
Option 2: Download a new copy of the installation package
- Go to the DocLink: Sage 50—U.S. Edition: Download Portal and download a new copy of the Sage 50 Accounting installer.
- Once downloaded, run it, and verify that the installation starts now.
Option 3: Run installer as administrator
- Right-click the install file (Setup.exe for stand alone or server, Clientinstall.bat for workstation) and then select Run as Administrator.
- Verify that the installer starts now.
Option 4: Delete temporary files
- Click the Windows Start button. In the Search box type Explorer and then press Enter.
- In the File Explorer browse to C:\Windows\Temp. Be sure to open the Temp folder.
- While in the Temp folder, press Ctrl + A to select all files, and then press Delete on the keyboard.
Note: If any files are in use or otherwise can't be deleted, select Skip.
- Close the File Explorer.
- Press the Windows key + R, type %temp% and press Enter. This will take you to the Temp folder in the current user profile.
- As above, press Ctrl + A to select all, and then press Delete on the keyboard.
- Close the File Explorer.
- Run the Sage 50 installation again and verify that it is able to start.
If the installation is still not starting:
It may be a damaged Windows user profile. Try logging into a different administrator profile in Windows, or create a new profile. For assistance, consult your IT group, network administrator, or local computer technician.
