How to use the *UFAC utility to check damaged files
Description
Cause

Use *UFAC to check files prior to running the *UFAR utility

Resolution
[BCB:1:Backup warning:ECB]
  1. Make a backup of the file to be repaired.
    (Suggestion: Copy the corrupted file into the root of the C:\ drive, then use this file to run the utility on. Once the process is complete, place it the file back by renaming the original file first, then pasting the new one in its place.)
  2. Start the *UFAC utility:
    1. Via Windows Explorer, navigate to the "..\MAS90\HOME" directory where Sage 100 ERP is installed
    2. Right-click the Pvxwin32.exe file
    3. Select "Run as Administrator"
    4. Click OK at the ProvideX:Initialization
    5. In the ProvideX window, enter the following command at the prompt and press the Enter key:
      RUN "*UFAC"
  3. Enter the name of the file to be repaired at the 'Name of Keyed file' field, with the full path to that file and press the Enter key.
    (Example: If you followed the suggestion in Step 1, and the file to be checked was GL_DetailPosting.m4t, then the path would be C:\GL_DetailPosting.m4t)
  4. For "Pause at each error?" enter (Y)es or (N)o
    • Yes: Stop after each error is detected
    • No: Continue processing, reporting the total number of errors at the end of the run
  5. For "Display index trace?" enter (Y)es, (N)o, or (Q)uit
    • Yes: The utility displays the various keyed index entries as they are being verified (helpful but can be slow on some systems
    • No: Prevent trace of teh index entries.
    • Quit: Exit the utility.
  6. For "Log errors to printer?" enter (N)o, (Y)es, or (Q)uit
    • No: Displays the errors on screen
    • Yes: Displays and prints an Error Log
    • Quit: Exit the utility
  7. Click the Close (or "x") button to close the Application window.
  8. Enter the following command press the Enter key to exit:
    BYE
