| How to copy all data for a module other than General Ledger or Common Information, from one company code into another company code |
Cause | The Copy function in Company Maintenance automatically selects the Common Information (C/I) and General Ledger (G/L) modules when any other module selected for copying. Therefore, it is not possible to copy only one module - such as Payroll (P/R) or Sales Order (S/O) - without also copying C/I and G/L. |
Resolution | [BCB:1:Backup warning:ECB]
Use a third, temporary company code to hold C/I and G/L information from the destination company:
- Open Library Master, Main menu, Company Maintenance
- Create a new third, Temporary company code (other than the Source company code or the Destination company code).
- Copy data for only the Common Information and General Ledger modules from the Destination company code to the Temporary company code.
- Copy the data for desired module(s) along with Common Information and General Ledger (as they will automatically be selected), from the Source company code to the Destination company code
- Copy back the data for only the Common Information and General Ledger modules, from the Temporary company code to the Destination company code
- Delete the Temporary company code
