| How to setup and use Multi-Part Form Printing in Sage 100 |
Cause |
Use multi-part form printing to print documents to multiple locations. For example, with multi-part printing enabled, you can print the following copies of a purchase order: a file copy to your draft printer, a warehouse copy to the printer located in your warehouse, and the original copy to a high quality laser printer. This functionality takes the place of pre-printed multiple-part carbon/carbonless forms.

Note: Not all printers/drivers are compatible with the commands sent from the Sage 100 program for aspects such as number of copies, collation (or not), or even the handling of default tray (or manual feed) settings. Sage 100 Customer Support is not responsible for troubleshooting possible printer incompatibility issues. Assistance from a qualified outside technician may be necessary.
Note: The steps below use Payroll graphical check forms as the example. Use similar steps for Accounts Payable Check Printing.
To enable Multi-Part Printing for graphical payroll check forms:
- In Check Printing, select Multi Part Enabled
- Click the Multi Part button
- On the Part 1 line, in the Copies field enter the number of copies you wish to print (Ex. if you wanted to print in triplicate, enter 3 copies)
- Print Shadow - select this check box to print shadow text. Clear this check box if you do not want to print shadow text. This check box is available only if the Copies field is entered.
- Shadow Text - type the shadow text to print on the document (for example, Cust. Copy or Office Cpy). This field is available only if the Print Shadow check box is selected.
- Click the Printer 1 Setup button or select the applicable Printer from drop down list,
- select the applicable printer to use when printing this part
- select the Collate check box to print each copy of the form in proper binding order when printing multiple copies (ex. 123,123,123). Clear this check box if you do not want to collate the form. (Ex. 111,222,333) This option is only available if the number of copies is greater than 1
- Repeat steps 3-6 for additional parts you wish to print
- Click Print
- Click OK
