How to enable program Escape Trapping; How to temporarily disable Custom Office, Customizer Selection modifications to task windows or screens
Description
Cause
  • A Sage 100 program task hangs or is interrupted without error. Enabling Escape Trapping may allow for an error to display.
  • An error or issue may be due to enhancements made using Custom Office, Customizer Selection. If the error or issue does not occur when Escape Trapping is enabled, that may point to the customization as the cause.
Resolution
[BCB:1:Backup warning:ECB]

Note: In general, most (but not all) Customizer Selection modifications made via the Custom Office module will be disabled for the specific workstation when the procedure is followed. In some rare instances, this may cause unexpected behavior or errors, especially if third-party enhancements are involved.

  1. From the Sage 100 Desktop, click File
  2. Select Run
  3. For Program, enter the following: *ESC
  4. Click OK
  5. Select Yes when prompted with, "Do you want to enable Escape Trapping?"
  6. Go back to where the error or issue was happening, to see if the problem still occurs.

Note: To later disable Escape Trapping that was enabled, run the *ESC command again to select Yes to disable Escape Trapping. Or, log out of Sage 100 at the workstation where Escape Trapping was enabled, then log back in again.
