How to globally update employee information

Resolution
Use Global Employee Change to update or make the same change to a field for several (or all) employees at a time. It is recommended to perform a backup prior to making a global employee change.

  1. Have all users exit BusinessWorks and backup your company data before proceeding
  2. On the Payroll menu point to PR, Employees, Employee Global Change.
  3. On the Data to change field select the field to be changed from the drop-down list. The following can be changed:
    • Employment Status
    • Pay rate (Hourly Only)
    • Standard rate
    • Vacation accrual rate
    • Sick pay accrual rate
    • Sick pay accrual rate (Reset) (Note: this resets the sick rate regardless of any original value)
    • Sick pay start hours
    • Task code
    • Commission ID
    • Pay period
    • Department number
    • Shift
    • Employee on hold
    • Kind of payer
  4. Select the Original value
  5. Select the New value
  6. Select OK to start the process

Note: Click Cancel if no changes are to be made. Clicking OK starts the global change using whatever information is displayed.
