How to delete a company code and remove all data for a company from Sage 100
Description
Cause

A copy company code created for testing purposes, or as a backup of a live company code may be taking up additional resources (such as storage space) and may need to be removed.

Resolution
[BCB:1:Backup warning:ECB]

Note: For information on how to remove data for specific module applications only, or on how to copy data from one company to another company code, see the Related Resources section below.

Warning: Deletion of a company code removes all data associated with that company code. This is an irreversible process!

Note: To delete a particular company code and remove all data from that specific company code, you must be working from within another company code.

  1. Access the other company code (that is not going to be deleted):
    1. From the Sage 100 Desktop, access the File menu, and select Change Company
    2. Enter the company code (that is not going to be deleted) or select it from the Company List lookup
  2. Open Library Master, Main menu, Company Maintenance
  3. For Company Code, enter the company code (that is to be deleted) or select it from the Company List lookup
  4. Click Remove
  5. Click OK prompted with the message: "Warning: Removing individual modules that are integrated with other modules may cause unexpected results. Integration with any removed module should be disabled."
  6. Click the Select All (green check mark) button the Remove Data window that appears
  7. Click Proceed
  8. Click Yes when prompted with the message: "This will permanently remove the data files. Do you want to continue?"
  9. Close Company Maintenance

Note: After deleting the company code, check if the "MAS_XXX" folder for that company code (where "XXX" is the company code) still exists in the "..\MAS90" directory on the server where Sage 100 is installed. If folder exists, delete it.

  • Example: After deleting company code "DEF" by following the steps above, check for a "MAS_DEF" folder  in the "..\MAS90" directory on the server where Sage 100 is installed. Delete the "MAS_DEF" folder.
