Notes:

  • Databases will only convert one schema at a time. You may need to install intermediate versions and convert when performing an update. See Database conversion status: Incompatible Version for more information
  • Any databases with the status “Conversion Complete” are up to date and do not require conversion to use on the currently installed version of Sage Fixed Assets
  • Before performing an update, back up existing companies from a client. See How to back up a company

Network and Premier:

Note: You must perform all conversions on the server for Network and Premier editions.

  1. On the desktop on the server where Sage Fixed Assets is installed, right-click the Database Utility - Network or Premier Depreciation & Tracking. Select Run as administrator.
  2. Click Convert.
  3. Click Next, click Next, click Select All to select databases with a Conversion Status of Ready to Convert.
  4. Click Next, then Convert.
  5. Once the conversion completes, click Close.
  6. An Internet browser window opens that shows databases converted and their status. This will use the Windows default .htm file reader.

For Single User and Lite Editions:

  1. Go to Start, Programs, Sage Fixed Assets, and click Conversion Utility.
Note: The conversion utility will launch automatically when opening an unconverted database
  2. Click Next, click Next, click Select All to select databases with a Conversion Status of Ready to Convert.
    1. If a database shows Incompatible version, it is too old to convert. See Database conversion status: Incompatible Version
  3. Click Next, then Convert.
  4. Once the conversion completes, click Close.
  5. An Internet browser window opens that shows databases converted and their status. This will use the Windows default .htm file reader.
