Error: "There was a problem activating..." when program path not installed in Program Files (x86)
Description
Cause

Program path not installed in Program Files (x86) on 64-bit operating system

Resolution

Note: If your computer has a 64-bit operating system, it is necessary to install Sage 50—U.S. Edition in the Program Files (x86) folder. The Program Files (x86) folder is designed especially for 32 bit programs. Various issues have been noted when the program is not installed in the Program Files (x86) folder.

  1. Check the current installed program path, refer to Article ID 10165: DocLink: "How to find data path and program path"
  2. If your program path is not correct, uninstall and reinstall the program, being careful to select the Program Files (x86) directory for the program path
  3. Verify you can now open with no errors
