Resolution | [BCB:1:Backup warning:ECB] [BCB:3:Network warning:ECB] Verify Sage 100 is not retired and on version 2022 or higher - For those with firewalls that block by country, try unblocking Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
- In a couple of situations, the Windows server was found to not have TLS 1.0 and 1.1 enabled (1.0 and 1.1 being deprecated standards). The Windows administrator had to manually set the Windows registry to allow that.
- Note: This is not something that Sage 100 Customer Support can assist with.
- For additional troubleshooting, you can launch the Sage 100 shortcut while selecting "Run as Administrator" on the shortcut or for Sage 100 Advanced/Premium launch in MAS90 (Standard) mode - see the Related Resources section.
- Note: In addition to the "Could not contact the license and subscription service in the allowed time" message, it may be possible to receive the message "No updates found" when the connection fails.
- Install latest Sage 100 update for the version installed or install available hotfixes for the version installed. DocLink: Sage 100: Download Portal

Firewall and TLS (Transport Layer Security): - TLS 1.2 is required to connect with Sage License Server. Verify Sage 100 version is not retired as retired verions used older TLS 1.0 & 1.1 which cannot connect to the Sage 100 License Server.
- Make sure the Firewall does not block websites outside the United States (geographical block)
"Download" Directory and XML file: - Rename the "Download" directory in "..\MAS90\Home\Microsoft.NET\Sage100.SLS.Client" on the server where Sage 100 is installed
- Click the Update button again on the Registration tab, in Sage 100, Library Master, Setup menu, System Configuration
- If working properly, a new "Download" directory will be created and a new file with an .XML extension will get created in that "Download" directory
- The *.XML file can be viewed by opening the file for review (such as in a program like NotePad). The product key and EndDate/Expire Date that is on the Sage License Server be updated and visible in this file
- If the *.XML file is not generated, then may be an environmental issue where the Sage 100 Server is not communicating to the Sage License Server
- Following the other possible resolutions on this KB may help
- Running a utility such as Process Monitor may also help
- Sage Support cannot assist with Firewall settings. Please contact your Sage 100 Business Partner or IT professional if you need assistance configuring you Firewall
