| The company is missing from the Company List |
Description | Recovery Pending state. This kind of situation arises primarily when: - An unsaved transaction is open when the company database crashes.
- The user moves log files from \\Sage100Con\Logs\ to a new drive. This action corrupts the log files.
- Database Recovery can't occur due to insufficient memory space or disk drive storage.
- Another application has locked the database, preventing SQL Server from communicating with the company.

Cause | The user renamed or deleted the company folder in Windows File Explorer. The backup application (for example, CrashPlan, iDrive, Shadow Copy) scans the company database files. Locked .MDF files. The company database is in a recovery pending state, in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. |
Resolution | ▼If the user manually renamed or accidentally deleted the company folder in Windows File Explorer If the user manually renamed the company folder, do the following: - From the server, open Windows File Explorer.
- Go to \\Sage100Con\Company.
- Right-click the company folder. Select Rename from the context menu.
- Manually rename the company back to the original name.
- Close Windows File Explorer.
- Right-click the Windows Start button and choose Run.
- In the Open cell, type services.msc.
- In the list of services, locate the service SQL Server (SAGE100CON) or the name of your SQL instance.
- Right-click on this service and select Stop. After stopping the service, right-click on the same service and choose Start.
- When the service has restarted, close the Services window.
- Open Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Upgrade Company Databases.
- If the missing company now appears in the list, open Sage 100 Contractor and open the company.
- If the company isn’t displayed in the Company List, proceed to the next solution below.
NOTE: If the user accidentally deleted the company folder from \\Sage100Con\Company, follow these steps. ▼Refresh the Company List - Connect to Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Refresh Company List at the bottom right, in the Company List window.
- Verify the company is now displayed in the Company List. Open the company.
- If the company isn’t displayed in the Company List, proceed to the next solution below.
▼Restart the SQL Server Sage100CON (or the name of your SQL instance) service - Ask all users to close Sage 100 Contractor.
- On the server, right-click the Windows Start button and select Run.
- In the Open cell, type services.msc.
- Click OK.
- In the Services window, locate the service SQL Server (SAGE100CON) or the name of your SQL instance.
- Right-click on the service and select Stop. After stopping the service, right-click on the same service and choose Start.
- When the service has restarted, close the Services window.
- Open Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor on the server.
- Click Tune Up/Back Up/ Restore..., then Tune-Up Company Databases.
- Verify that the previously missing company appears in the list.
- Connect to Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Refresh Company List at the bottom right, in the Company List window.
- If the company isn’t displayed in the Company List, proceed to the next solution below.
▼Take the company database offline; then, online - Close Sage 100 Contractor on all computers.
- Connect to Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio from the server.
- Expand Databases Object Explorer on the left.
- Do the following when the company status is Recovery Pending:
- Right-click the company database. Select Tasks, Take Offline.
- Wait at least 30 seconds to verify the database is offline. After a Successful message appears, click Close.
- Right-click the company database and select Tasks, Bring Online.
- Wait at least 30 seconds and verify the database is successfully online. After a Successful message appears, click Close.
- You'll no longer see (Pending Recovery) appended to the company database.
- Close Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
- Open Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Upgrade Company Databases. If the previously missing company displays, open Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Refresh Company List at the bottom right in the Company List window.
- Proceed to the next solution below when the company isn’t displayed in the Company List.
▼Restart the server; then take the company database offline; then, online - If the company database remains in a Recovery Pending state, one or more MDF files are locked by third-party backup software.
- The MDF files are in \\Sage100Con\Company\[nameofcompany].
- Restarting the server can release any locked MDF files.
- After restarting the server, attempt to bring the company back online using the steps in the section above labeled Take the company database offline; then, online.
