Why is a lease missing from the 1098s in Property Management?
Description
Cause

The lease Actual Move-In Date and/or Actual Move-Out Date do not fall within the reporting year.

Resolution

Verify the dates on the lease(s):

  1. In Property Management select Inquiry, Leases by Property.
  2. Select Property file, then click OK.
  3. Select Lease file, then click OK.
  4. Select Retail file, then click OK.
  5. Select Tenant file, then click OK.
  6. Select Accum file, then click OK.
  7. Double-click on the property to drill down to the leases.
  8. Add the following columns to the inquiry. Refer to article ID 20006 DocLink: How do I add or edit a column in an inquiry?:
    • Status
    • Actual Move-In Date
    • Actual Move-Out Date
  9. Review the dates for the leases that are missing from the 1098s. Determine if the dates are correct or if they need to be changed.
  10. If the dates need to be changed, refer to article ID 36916 DocLink: How do I correct Actual Lease start, Actual Lease end, Actual Move-in, and Actual Move-out dates for a lease in Property Management?
  11. After the dates are corrected, verify the correct leases are now included in the 1098s.
