The port number used by a Sage 100 Advanced or Premium installation is initially determined (entered and set) at the time of installation.
There are several methods of determining what server name and port number is being used, for installing the Workstation Setup client install for Sage 100 Advanced or Premium
- If Sage 100 Advanced or Premium is run as an Application:
- For server name:
- If you are the server, you should know the server name, but you can also find it by looking at the properties of This PC or My Computer
- For port number:
- Access Application Server Configuration (usually from the Start menu, open Programs, then open the Sage folder)
- Look at the port number
- If Sage 100 Advanced or Premium is run as a Service,
- For server name:
- If you are the server, you should know the server name, but you can also find it by looking at the properties of This PC or My Computer
- For port number:
- At the server, access the Windows' Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services
- Look at the name of the Service, which should have the port number in parentheses
- Example: Sage 100c Advanced 2017 (10000)
- If you have another workstation that is currently able to access the Sage 100 Advanced or Premium installation:
- Right-click the Sage 100 shortcut at that workstation
- Select Properties,
- Access the Shortcut tab
- Look at the Target for the shortcut path and parameters, which should include the server name and the port number in double-quotes
- Example: "C:\Sage\Sage 100 Workstation\MAS90\Home\pvxwin32.exe" ../launcher/sota.ini *Client -ARG "servername" "9999" "Sage 100"
- Note: Sometimes the server name is given as an IP address, because it was installed using the IP address or the target was manually changed.
