How to migrate licenses to a different server?
Description

Cause

Resolution
If your license is activated on your current server, it is locked to a hardware-specific ID for that server. You’ll need to de-authorize your license for the current server and re-enter it on the new server.

  1. On the existing server, go to Start, Sage Administration, License Administration and click Deauthorize Server. Your license will be de-activated, and users will no longer be able to open Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate from their workstations until re-activated.
  2. When you install Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate on the new server, the licensing service will attempt to activate your license.
    • If the activation is not successful, go to Start, Sage Administration, License Administration. Enter your Sage Client ID and Registration Name to activate your license on the new server. Your licenses will lock to the hardware-specific ID for the new server.

Note: If you're unable to deauthorize your license on the existing server (for example, a hardware failure), contact Sage Support to request that the server be deauthorized by Sage. Once de-activated, you can continue with your server migration.
