Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate uses the License Administration tool to track and allocate software licenses.
By entering your Sage Client ID (often referred to as “customer number” or “account ID”) and Registration name, the License Administration tool retrieves the number of purchased licenses that are available, which you can then allocate to your server. You can allocate all or a partial number of licenses. The number of licenses equals the number of uses of an application.
- Licenses for Mobile Projects are user-specific. Only a specific user is designated to use a specific license or use of the product.
- Licenses for accounting applications such as AP, GL, and so on, are not user-specific and can be shared among users. Example: if a company has 5 licenses of AP with 7 AP users, the 7 users can install 300 CRE on their workstations but only 5 can open AP at the same time.
During installation
The licensing service tries to retrieve your licenses and assign them to your server automatically. If your license is successfully activated during this process, you won't need to take further action. Your licenses will be locked to your server using the specific hardware identity of that server. For details, see How to migrate licenses to a different server?
After installation
You can view the status of your licenses by going to Start, Sage Administration, License Administration. (If security is enabled for your installation, you must be a Security and Application Administrator for Sage 300 CRE to access this module.)
If your license has been successfully activated, in License Administration, you'll see your Sage Client ID and Registration Name along with a table showing each module and the number of uses available to it.
If your license was not successfully activated, click Change Registration to enter your correct Sage Client ID and Registration Name. When you save your changes, your licenses will be activated.
About allocating uses
When you update your license, you'll be asked whether to allocate all uses, or allocate just one use. In most cases, you'll allocate all uses to your production server. Allocating one use allows you to install Sage 300 CRE on multiple servers (for example, a test server or regional production server) and spread your uses across them. This is known as multi-server licensing.
If you select Allocate One Use, see Install Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate 17.1.5 and later on a test server for further instructions.
NOTE: If you have a pc or acting server crash and can't deactivate or release licenses from that machine, please contact support so we can release it for you.
