Multiple Windows file handles open on server

Install the latest service release

Users of Sage Timeslips Premium need the latest service release installed on the server to prevent this issue.

Check the server for open Timeslips files

  1. Open Computer Management.
  2. From the Start menu, type Computer Management, then open it.
  3. Double-click System Tools, Shared Folders, then Open Files.
  4. Look for files related to the Timeslips program.
  5. Note computer names ending with a dollar sign, for example, NewDell-PC$.
  6. Right-click each Timeslips file, then select Close File.

Disable the Timeslips backup service

Complete these steps on every machine listed in the open files view.

  1. Open the Windows Services console.
  2. From the Start menu, type services.msc, then open it.
  3. Locate the TimeslipsBackup service.
  4. Right-click the service, then select Properties.
  5. Stop the service.
  6. Set Startup type to Disabled.

CAUTION:

Ensure all users exit Sage Timeslips before stopping services or closing open files.
