Resolution
In order to use Custom Worksheets, Custom Office must be purchased and registered in Sage BusinessWorks.

Use the Custom Worksheet option to set up a template that defines the Sage BusinessWorks data to be exported, how to filter and sort it. The data can then be exported from this option and sent directly to another program or Sage BusinessWorks company. This option can also be used to copy templates from other Sage BusinessWorks companies or edit existing templates.

How to access Custom Worksheets:
The Custom Worksheets feature is located under each Sage BusinessWorks module. First select the module to create the export from. Next, point to the Reports menu, and click Custom Worksheets. Another way to access Custom Worksheets is from the System Menu bar at the top of the Sage BusinessWorks window. Point to Utilities, and click Custom Worksheets.

Custom Worksheets example:
This example creates an export of Customer information from Accounts Receivable. On the Accounts Receivable menu, point to Reports, and click Custom Worksheets.

  1. Click New to create the Custom Worksheet template.
  2. Enter a name for the Custom Worksheet, and click Next.
  3. Select the Data Source from which to extract information. In this example, select AR Customers, then select Next.
  4. A list of exportable items appears on the left side of the screen. Select the fields to export, and click Add to move the items from the available to the selected side. After the fields are selected to export, click either the Next (or Done button if you do not want any filters). If Next clicked, there are options to filter and ways to sort the export becomes available.
  5. On the Set Sort screen, select your “Sort By” options, then click Next.
  6. On the Set screen, select your filter options, then click Next.
  7. On the Assign an Excel screen, select whether you want to “Always create new” or “Always use this one” to export into an existing spreadsheet. Use the Browse option to select the existing Workbook and Worksheet to export into.
  8. Select Done.
  9. Select the Custom Worksheet template you create, then click Execute to load the information into Microsoft Excel.
