Parallels Desktop - used on Mac computers to run Windows applications

While Sage does not provide support on running Sage 100 from a Mac computer, some may install Parallels Desktop to create a virtual Windows environment to allow a Mac user to run Sage 100 from the Sage 100 server.

If the Business Insights views do not load or display in this environment, the following steps have been reported to resolve the issue:

  1. From the user's workstation, Log onto the Sage 100 Server using the user's credentials
  2. Open registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sage Software\BIE Explorer
  3. Rename the registry subkey BIE Explorer
  4. Run Business Insights Explorer from workstation again

Note: Sage received confirmation that these steps worked for another customer running in this environment and was added to share for others. Since Sage does not support running Sage 100 in this environment, if these steps do not work for you, you will need to either contact you Sage 100 Business Partner or post on the Sage Community Hub for additional help.
