Post & Interface Settings change in Accounts Receivable
Description

We've had reported issues where the Activate Interface setting to Contracts deactivates in Accounts Receivable's Post & Interface Settings. The system log doesn't show entries for the access to or change of the settings. This same issue can also occur in other applications.

Symptoms of this issue include:

  • In any application: File, Company Settings, AR Settings, Post & Interface Settings, the Activate interface settings to another application isn't checked. A user didn't change the setting
  • The previous work completed showing in Billing, Contract-Based Invoices is incorrect
  • The work billed, cash receipts and/or adjustments to date in Contracts are incorrect
  • Contract-related transactions that exist in Accounts Receivable are missing in Contracts
  • The Contracts column doesn't show in the AR Enter Invoices distribution grid (when using a contracts view)
  • Contract-related entries aren’t posting from AR to Contracts. The AR entries show with distributions to contracts, but the associated batch and entries aren't in Contracts
  • The Contracts Recap is missing from the Billing and/or Accounts Receivables Posting journals
  • The Recap associated with one or more interfacing applications in missing from Posting journals

There are other possible causes associated with entries not posting to interfacing applications. See the Resolution section for more information.

We've seen this issue in versions 17 and 18. We included changes in version 18.3.1 to prevent this issue. However, we've had reported occurrences in version 18.4.1, so we're still researching the issue.

NOTE:

If you find that you're missing batches in Contracts, Sage Expert Services can correct your Contract totals with a file fix. This is a chargeable service.

Verify the interface settings

Check your interface settings in Accounts Receivable.

  1. Go to Accounts Receivable, File, Company Settings, AR Settings.
  2. Click the Post & Interface Settings button.
  3. Confirm they activated the desired interfaces and selected to create entries.

The interface isn't active

If your interface settings aren’t active, contact Sage Support if you suspect you've encountered this issue. Support will verify the issue and escalate as needed. To identify the cause of this issue, we'll have you load a file that enables additional logging to track when the settings changes happen.

Triage Steps can include:

  • Reviewing posting journals to determine what entries did or didn't post to the appropriate applications
  • Reviewing the Sage Log Viewer to determine if a user accessed the settings and turned off the interface
  • Enabling additional logging capabilities to help identify what is causing the interface settings to disable

It's possible you'll need to perform a full reconciliation of your data.

The interface is active

If your interface settings are still active and set to create entries, check for other causes for your issue:
