How can I clear old items from my Aged Receivables without affecting the General Ledger?

Resolution
  1. Determine the customer's balance on the Aged Receivables that you want to remove.
  2. Go to Maintain, Customers/Prospects and select the customer.
  3. Select the History tab and click Customer Beginning Balances.
  4. Enter an invoice number of your choice.
  5. Select the Date on which you want to remove the item from Aged Receivables.
  6. Enter the customer Amount you want to remove from Aged Receivables, and reverse the sign.
    • If the amount is positive on Aged Receivables, enter it as a negative here
    • If the amount is negative on Aged Receivables, enter it as a positive here
  7. Click Save and close the customer record.
  8. Go to Tasks, Receive Money, and select the customer.
     NOTE: If the original invoices don’t show here, assigned them invoice numbers. 
  9. Change the Date to the same date that you entered in Customer Beginning Balances.
  10. Place a check mark in the Pay column next to the corresponding positive and negative amount.
  11. The Receipt amount will be $0.00. Enter a check/reference number and click Save.
