Manage Layouts window

You can save column layouts under different names and apply them at will. When you save a column layout, Database Editor remembers:

  • The column widths and locations.
  • The column names.
  • Whether or not columns are visible.

The Database Editor displays all column layouts in a dropdown list above the grid and in the Manage Layouts window.

You open the Manage Layouts window in one of these ways:

  • From the Customize group on the ribbon, click Manage Layouts.
  • Right-click any column header in the Items or Phases grid, and then click Manage Layouts on the shortcut menu.

To save a column layout:

  • On the ribbon, in the Customize group, click Save Layout (to save changes with the current name) or Save Layout As (to save the layout with a new name).

Tip: You can also right-click any column header in the Items or Phases grid, and then click Save Layout As on the shortcut menu.

  • If you are saving the layout with a new name, in the Save Layout As window, type the new name in the Layout Name box.
  • Click [OK].

To rename an existing column layout:

  • Open the Manage Layouts window.
  • Select the column layout name.
  • Click [Rename].
  • In the Save Layout As window, type the new name in the Layout Name box.
  • Click [OK].

To delete a column layout:

  • Open the Manage Layouts window.
  • Select the column layout name.
  • Click [Delete].
  • Click [Yes].
  • Click [Close].

To apply a column layout:

  • Open the Manage Layouts window.
  • Select a layout name from the list.
  • Click [Apply].
  • Click [Close].

Tip: You can also select a layout by clicking the layout name from the dropdown list above the Items or Phases grid.
