SQL Replicator Sage Server installation If you plan to use Sage SQL Replicator, you’ll need SQL Server version 2016 SP1 or later. You can use the Sage SQL Installer (in the Sage Administration program group). SQL Version The size of the replicated data in SQL Server is larger than the original Pervasive data because Replicator adds views and indexes the data. You can use SQL Express (available at no extra cost) if your database isn't too large. Otherwise, you must use full SQL Server (Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition). See the process to estimate the size of your SQL Database in SQL Replicator. Hardware Depending on your use of Sage SQL Replicator, use a physical machine or VM with the dedicated resources shown below. Your RAM is dependent on the size and number of your databases, the number of concurrent users, and if other business applications are hosted on the same server. - Not using replicator or replication of one small (0-2 GB) data folder:
- CPU: Current generation multi-core processor with 4+ cores; 1.6+GHz
- RAM: 8+ GB
- Hard drive: Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD)
- Replicator of multiple medium (2-6 GB) data folders:
- CPU: Current generation multi-core processor with 4+ cores; 2+ GHz
- RAM: 16+ GB
- Hard drive: Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD)
- Replicator of multiple medium (2-6 GB) or large (6+ GB) data folders:
- CPU: Current generation multi-core processor with 8 cores; 2.4+ GHz
- RAM: 32+ GB
- Hard drive: Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD) with 200 MB/seconds of sustained read/write throughput
- May require full SQL Server version
