How to install updates

Summary

How to install updates in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

 NOTE: If you have a server and one or more workstations, close Sage 50 on all the workstations before installing the update on the server. Install product release updates on the server or host machine before installing updates on the workstations. 

Check for updates within the program

  1. Go to Services, Check for Updates. Click Check Now.
  2. Click Download on any updates that appear.
    • If you don’t get the Download prompt, close Sage 50, and right-click the Sage 50 program icon. Select Run as administrator, then check for updates again
  3. Close Sage 50 to start the installation.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If the installation prompt doesn’t appear, manually install the update.

Tax Forms Updates

  • Tax form updates install automatically when you open Payroll Tax Forms
  • If the tax form update doesn't install automatically, manually install the update

Installing updates on a workstation ClientInstall.bat

After updating the server, adjust the file permissions for the main product folder (for example, PeachtreeInstaller2024) for Execute access. See Nothing happens when I run ClientInstall.bat to install the workstation for instructions on adjusting permissions.
