Windows open off screen or minimized on taskbar

The Sage application opens off screen or minimized on the Windows taskbar.

Use one of the options below to move the window back onto your screen.

Use Keyboard Shortcuts

1. Select the off-screen window from the taskbar.
2. Press Alt + Space, then M (for Move).
3. Use the arrow keys to move the window back into view.

Cascade Windows

1. Right-click on the taskbar.
2. Select Cascade windows to bring all open windows into view.

Open Task Manager

1. Right-click the Windows Taskbar.
2. Select Task Manager.
3. Locate the application in Processes.
4. Click the caret symbol on the left to expand.
5. Right-click the application in the submenu.
6. Choose Maximize.

Restart workstation

1. Restart your workstation.
2. Relaunch Sage.
3. Confirm the windows open normally.

For Sage 100 Contractor only

1. Open Windows Task Manager.
2. Right-click Sage 100 Contractor, in the Processes column.
3. Select End Task.
4. Open Windows File Explorer.
5. Go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Sage\Sage 100 Contractor SQL.
6. Right-click the Sage100Contractor.user.config file and select Rename from the menu.
7. Rename the file to Sage100Contractor.user.config.OLD.

For Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (CRE) only

1. Close all modules of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.
2. Press the Windows Key + R and type "regedit".
3. Rename the HKeyCurrentUser\software\timberline key to "HKeyCurrentUser\software\timberlineOLD".
4. Open Sage Desktop.

If this occurs only within a specific module of Sage 300 CRE

1. Close all modules of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.
2. Press the Windows Key + R and type "regedit".
3. Go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Timberline.
4. Right-click the folder with the name of the module opening off screen. For example, right-click Accounts Payable if that module opens off screen.
5. Select Rename.
6. Add OLD to the end of the file name.
7. Open Sage 300CRE and the module.
