Use 2-factor authentication to add extra security to your Sage account.
Description
- 2-factor authentication adds extra security to your Sage account. Every time you log in, you need to provide a code
- You can have your Sage product 'remember you' the next time you log in. This means you need only enter a second form of verification via passcode after 30 days
NOTE: We recommend you always set up your own user login details rather than sharing login details.
Resolution
- Log in to the Account Management area.
- Click 2-factor authentication and click Send email.
- You'll receive an email to enroll in 2-factor authentication.
- Use the link in the email to set up 2-factor authentication on your account.
Choose ways to authenticate
▼ Authenticator apps (recommended) Sage 2FA is compatible with most authenticator apps. A few of the best-known are Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, and Authy Authenticator.
- Download the app of your choice from the App Store on iPhones or Google Play on Android phones.
- Use the authenticator app to scan the QR code.
- Then enter the 6-digit code generated by the app and click Continue.
- Record the recovery code and store in a safe location.
NOTE: You’ll need this code to access your account without your mobile phone. - Select the I have recorded my recovery code check box, then click Continue.
- You have activated 2-factor authentication. You’ll begin to receive codes to your mobile device when logging in to your product or service.
▼ Phone call - Select Verify a different way instead, at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the Phone option. Enter your phone number in the Phone call box and click Continue.
- Answer the call or listen to your voicemail to hear your one-time passcode. Enter the code and click Continue.
- Record the recovery code and store in a safe location.
NOTE: Use this code to access your account to retrieve the one-time passcode when logging into your account.
- Select the I have recorded my recovery code check box, then click Continue.
- You'll begin to receive codes to your mobile device when logging in to your product or service.
