".NET 4.8 required" message appears when installing workstation client.

Summary

".* NET 4.8 required" when installing Sage 100 2023 workstation client even though it's already installed or NET 4.8 installation loops.

Cause

.NET 4.8.03752 or older versions may cause this issue. The issue may occur with .NET 4.8.03752 or older versions.

The .NET Framework version installed on a machine is listed in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full. 

Resolution

  • Upgrade to supported version of Windows 10 (known to occur on Windows v. 1909, which is no longer supported by Microsoft)
  • Install workstation client using Sage 100 Standard 2023 Workstation.msi installer from Admin Command Prompt
