How to set up sales tax

Creating a Sales Tax in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

  1. On the Customers & Sales navigation center, click Sales Taxes to start the Sales Taxes wizard.
  2. Select Set up a new sales tax, and then click Next.
  3. On the Set Up New Sales Tax window, enter the appropriate information and click Next.
  4. On the Add Sales Tax Agency window, select an existing tax agency or add a new tax agency:
    • Existing tax agency: Select the drop-down arrow to the right of the Sales Tax Agency ID field, then click Next
    • Add a new tax agency: Enter the appropriate information, then click Next
    • If you need to associate another agency with the tax, repeat this step
  5. On the Sales Tax Entered window, complete the fields at the top of the window.
  6. Verify that the agency information is correct, and click Finish.
