CAUTION: Use caution when working with the below product functionality. Always create a backup of your data before proceeding with advanced solutions. If necessary, seek the assistance of a qualified Sage business partner, network administrator, or Sage customer support analyst.

Note: For hands-on instruction on reconciling, importing, and troubleshooting unreconciled bank accounts, refer to Reconciling bank accounts training. This feature is not available in Pro Accounting for Sage 50—U.S. Edition.

Note: You should only import bank statements one month at a time.

  1. Download your bank statement as an .OFX or .QFX file.
  2. Select Tasks, Account Reconciliation.
  3. Select Account to Reconcile, and then enter the correct Statement Date.
  4. Click Import.
  5. Select Manually select a statement.
  6. Click Browse, select your statement file, and then click Open.
  7. Click Import.

Note:

  • Importing bank statements will not generate transactions in Sage. To import transactions, refer to Article ID 10196 DocLink: How to import data
  • If the bank only provides the bank statement in .PDF (Adobe) format then there are third party software that can convert .PDF to .OFX or .QFX that can import into Sage via the Import button. However, Sage does not help troubleshoot errors associated with an import from third party software.
  • If using 2018.1 or higher with a 50C service plan, refer to How to reconcile my account using Bank Feeds
