Summary

How to change a payroll tax field or benefit field name in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

NOTE:

We recommend not changing Payroll Field names, as it will break the formulas.

  1. Select Maintain, Payroll, Reclassify and Rename Payroll Fields.
  2. Highlight the payroll field you wish to rename by clicking the line in the Category column.
  3. Select the Rename Field button.
  4. Enter the new name in the New field name: field.
  5. Select OK.

NOTE:

If needed, update the payroll formulas with the new field name for them to work correctly. Otherwise, you can receive errors the next time you process payroll.
