Summary

Error "Failed to read from Streamed Data, the file was shorter than expected" appears during billing or program startup in Sage Timeslips.

Cause

Sage Timeslips can’t access or lock the LCNSREGS.DAT, LOGIN.DB, or LOCKS.DB files on the server.

Resolution

Sage Timeslips Premium 2017, 2018, or 2019

Open the Timeslips installation folder
Open the DBFiles folder
Delete the LOGIN.DB file
Delete the LOCKS.DB file

Sage Timeslips 2015 or 2016

Open the Timeslips installation folder
Delete the LCNSREGS.DAT file

NOTE:

If you don't see this file in the same folder as TIMESLIP.CFG, enable hidden files in Windows.

Open the current database folder
Delete the LOGIN.DB file
Delete the LOCKS.DB file
