Resolution
In Sage Fixed Assets-Depreciation:
- Enter the asset normally with all critical values of depreciation (Property Type, Placed In Service Date, Acquisition Value, Depreciation Method and Estimated Life.)
- Then
- Leave the Beginning Date blank to allow the Sage Fixed Assets-Depreciation to calculate the depreciation from the Placed-in Service date to the current period.
- Or, force the asset to be fully depreciated
- Under the Beginning Date field, enter the date the asset is to be fully depreciated. This is a valid month end formatted as MM/DD/YY. See What is the Beginning Date?
- Under the Beginning YTD field, enter the year to date depreciation dollar amount the asset accrued for the fiscal year as of the Beg Date
- Under the Beginning Accum field, enter the asset's Acquisition Value.
Note: If the asset had depreciation, but was not fully depreciated see How to force depreciation.
Note: If the date used is in a prior year (calendar or fiscal) then some depreciation will be associated with that prior year as well, but the depreciation this run will reflect everything up to the run date
