Set up PAYA for online credit card transaction processing

Summary

Paya, a Nuvei company is a credit card storage and processing software that integrates with Sage BusinessWorks. You'll need to install and set up Sage BusinessWorks to interface with Paya when you process credit card transactions.

Resolution

Apply for a credit card merchant account with Paya

  • Contact Paya to apply for a credit card merchant account 

 NOTE: If you have an existing Merchant ID in Sage BusinessWorks, you'll need to switch to a Transactional processing account.

Install Paya Credit Card software

  1. Select Utilities, Paya Credit Card, Install Software on the menu bar.
  2. Follow the prompts to install Paya.
  3. Select Utilities, Paya Credit Card, Setup Wizard.
  4. You need a unique Merchant Key and ID for each company processing credit cards.
  5. Repeat the installation on all workstations that will process credit cards.

Run the Paya Setup Wizard

 NOTE: Perform this step only once. It's not necessary to repeat on all computers. 

  1. Go to Utilities, Paya Credit Card, Setup Wizard
  2. Enter your merchant key in the Merchant Key field.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Review the information on the Paya Credit Card – Transfer Credit Cards panel.
  5. Click Next to begin the transfer of your credit card information to the Paya secure storage vault.
     NOTE: Once this process begins, don't interrupt or cancel as it will damage your company data.
  6. The Paya Credit Card – Transfer Credit Cards panel will show the status of the transfer process. When complete, it will display a list of credit cards transferred to the Paya Credit Card secure vault storage.
  7. Click the hyperlink to view and print the transfer log.
     TIP: The log isn't available after you select Finish. Print it now in case you need it at a future time.
