How to apply customer open credits

In Accounts Receivable:

  1. On the AR menu, point to Transactions, and click Apply Open Credits
  2. Enter the customer ID
  3. In `Open credit' select the open credit # to be applied
  4. Enter the date and reference (optional)
  5. In `Amount' enter the amount of the open credit to be applied
  6. Select how the customer's credit should be applied (to an invoice, finance charge, cash refund, or refund check)
  7. Click Post
  8. If processing a refund check, an Instant Check screen will display that will allow you to print the refund check. The printing of this check does not post to the General Ledger. If the refund check does not print see Went to print customer refund check but it did not print for further instructions.

In Order Entry:

Converting a sales order to invoice from Maintain Sales Orders:

  1. Select the Sales Order in OE, Orders, Maintain Sales Orders
  2. Click on the 'Convert' button
  3. Select the Summary button
  4. Select the Open Credits button and select the open credit you wish to apply to the invoice

Converting a sales order to invoice using Manual select orders to invoice:

  1. Select the Sales Order in OE, Invoices, Select Orders to Invoice, Manual
  2. Uncheck 'Include all customers' and select the Customer
  3. Uncheck 'Include all orders' and enter the order #
  4. Select Require custom selection in the 'In case of insufficient inventory quantities' section
  5. Click OK
  6. Highlight the order and select the Customize/Select... button
  7. Select the Summary button
  8. Select the Open Credits button and select the open credit you wish to apply to the invoice
