How to install, uninstall, or reinstall the Sage 100 PDF converter.

Resolution

CAUTION: This solution requires advanced knowledge of your network. Contact your system administrator for assistance. Modifying Windows security incorrectly can severely affect system operations. Sage is not responsible for operation issues caused by incorrectly modifying your Windows security. Always create a backup of your data before proceeding with advanced solutions. 

Notes:

  • Sage Software Customer Support is not responsible for assisting with network and printer issues. Consult your network administrator before making changes.
  • In a Citrix environment, the Sage 100 PDF Converter must be installed on the Citrix server, not on the local workstation.
  • If the normal installation fails, see the Manual Installation section at the bottom of this article.

Before installing the PDF Converter, verify the following:

  • A Windows default printer is defined.
  • All printers are in Ready status.
  • You have rights to add and remove printers.

Perform the following if the PDF Converter must be reinstalled for some reason

Sage 100 2018 or higher:

  1. Log into Sage 100
  2. Select File, Run from the toolbar
  3. At the Program field, type PL_AdvancedOptions_Ui
  4. Click OK. The Paperless Office Advanced Options window opens.
  5. Click one of the following:
    • Test Converter
    • Install Converter
    • Uninstall Converter
    • View Installation Log

Retired Versions

Sage MAS 90 and 200 4.30 - 2017

  1. On the Sage MAS 90 or 200 File menu, click Run.
  2. At the Program field, type PL_AdvancedOptions_Ui
  3. Click OK. The Paperless Office Advanced Options window opens.
  4. Click one of the following buttons:
    • Test Converter
    • Install Converter
    • Uninstall Converter
    • View Installation Log

Sage MAS 90 and 200 4.10 and 4.20:

Note: For versions 4.20 and earlier, a Paperless Office option by Sage Extended Solutions must be installed.

  1. Expand ModulesLibrary Master, and Main. Double-click Company Maintenance.
  2. Click the E-Mail tab.
  3. Click Test E-mail.
  4. Click Advanced. The Paperless Office Advanced Options window opens.
  5. Click one of the following buttons:
    • Test Converter
    • Install Converter
    • Uninstall Converter
    • View Installation Log

Sage MAS 90 and 200 3.71 through 4.05:

  1. Expand ModulesLibrary Master, and Utilities. Double-click Extended Solutions Control Panel.
  2. Click Setup PDF Converter.
  3. Click one of the following buttons:
    • Install
    • Uninstall
    • Test

Manual Installation:

Perform a manual installation if the above procedures fail.

Sage MAS 90 and 200 4.30:

Run PDFInstall.exe at the server.

  1. In Windoes Explorer, go to ..\Mas90\Home.
  2. Double-click PDFInstall.exe.

Sage MAS 90 and 200 4.20 and earlier:

Run Es_Pdf_Sp.bat or Ext_Pdf.bat at the server.

  1. In Windows Explorer at the server, go to the following folder:
    • Sage MAS 90 or 200 4.10 or 4.20
      • ..\Mas90\Home.
    • Sage MAS 90 or 200 4.05 and earlier
      • ..\Mas90\Soa.
  2. Double-click one of the following files:
    • Es_Pdf_Sp.bat
    • Ext_Pdf.bat
  3. A Log file will open stating Install was successful or unsuccessful.
    Note: If the first attempt fails, try again.
