Summary
To create or modify Crystal Reports forms or report, first locate a copy of the software. Follow these steps to install or need to repair your installation for Sage 100.
Resolution
Before you begin
- Only install one version of Crystal Reports on a workstation
- If you install another version, it will overwrite files from the previous one—even if it’s older
- This can cause errors when you create, change, or print Crystal forms or reports
- The Sage 100 Workstation Setup installs a runtime version of Crystal Reports
- It lets you print or preview forms and reports
- To create or edit Crystal Reports, install Crystal Reports Designer. Choose the Typical install option to use the default settings
To install Crystal Reports Designer
- Go to the Sage 100 installation files.
- This is where you ran and extracted the Sage 100 download file
- Right-click Autorun.exe.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Choose your product:
- Sage 100 Standard
- Sage 100 Advanced
- Sage 100 Premium
- Select Productivity Applications.
- Select Install Crystal Reports Designer.
- Follow the wizard to install SAP Crystal Reports Designer.
NOTE: If you've already installed the same version of Crystal Reports, you'll see a menu to Modify, Repair, or Remove the program.
Additional information
- install Crystal Reports on the workstation, not the network. It’s easier and runs better that way
- You only need to install Crystal Reports if you’ll create or edit reports
- You don’t need it to print or preview Sage 100 forms or reports
- The Workstation Setup installs a runtime version for that
- Install Crystal Reports to set up or change fonts like MICR check fonts or bar code fonts
Registration
- You don’t need a serial number or key from Sage to install Crystal Reports. It installs on any workstation with Sage 100 or Workstation Setup
- If you install it on a workstation without Sage 100, you’ll need registration numbers
- If you see a message asking for a keycode, reinstall Workstation Setup. It’s a .dll issue, not a license problem
