In Sage Fixed Assets - Depreciation:
- Ensure the template information is correct in the Asset Detail.
Note:- You must create a template in Depreciation prior to creating assets from Planning. See How to create a Template or How to edit a Template in Depreciation for details
- The use of a template is optional in the Asset Creation process
In Sage Fixed Assets - Planning:
When creating asset from Planning for the first time, set the Default company and import Templates (if used):
- In the Planning Project from which you will be creating asset(s): Go to Projects, Preferences, Set Default Company and make the appropriate Database and Company selections.
- Importing Templates: In the Planning Project go to Customize, Fields, under Field Names with the Asset Template field selected, click Enter Field List then Import List, Click Ok, and OK to save the imported list.
Note: Asset Templates are not required. Templates can ensure data consistency between the Project and Depreciation databases
As an alternative to Templates you can also link a specific Line Item field to a field in Depreciation:
- Go to Customize, Fields.
- On highlighting a field you will see a drop-down listing on the right for Depreciation Destination Field.
- Select the field with the the Line Item value to send.
Creating asset(s) from Planning in Depreciation:
- Ensure line items are in Completed status (C) (On the Asset Information tab of the Line Item: Spending Complete will be set up Yes).
- On the Asset Information tab of the Line Item, if applicable: Select an Asset Template from the list and click Save.
- From either the Line Item details or Group View, go to: Line Items, Create Assets.
- If applicable: Select the destination company and database.
- Click Create Assets.
- The system will generate a report listing line items converted into Assets.
