Cause
The Borland engine is not functioning correctly or is not configured correctly. The Borland engine is having a memory conflict.
Resolution
CAUTION: Sage support can't assist with third-party products, hardware, report customizations, or state and federal tax questions. Refer to our Scope of Support for more info. Contact your Sage business partner, network administrator, or accountant for assistance.- At the computer/workstation getting the error close out of any Sage products that are open.
- Next thing that should be done is backup the idapi32.cfg file located in the Borland folder.
- On 64-bit machines, it can be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE folder.
- On 32-bit machines it can be found in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE folder.
- Once you have made a copy of that file, run the bdeadmin.exe by right-clicking the file and selecting "Run as Administrator" This program is located in the following folders:
- On 64-bit machines, it can be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE folder.
- On 32-bit machines it can be found in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE folder.
- It also can be found in the Windows Control Panel, named "BDE Administrator (32-bit)"
- Then go to configuration tab and expand system\INIT and change the SharedMemLocation to 0x5BDE. You can also changed the SharedMemSize to 4096 or another value.
- To save changes, you will need to click the Blue Arrow pointing to the right. You will get a message the following message: Confirm, "Save all edits to INIT?". Click the [OK] button to confirm the changes.
- Once you have done that, restart the Pervasive/Actian engine/service and open Purchasing or Inventory.
