Description

How does attendance work?

Resolution

    • If you calculate service as of the Accrue Through Date, the plan accrues up to that date.

For example, If your plan uses the Accrual Calculation Method and you run the Accrue Time process with an Accrue Through Date of 2/12/2025, it accrues through that date.

    • If you calculate service as of the End of Last Month, the plan accrues to the last day of the previous month. For example, with an Accrue Through Date of 2/12/2025, it accrues through 1/31/2025.

    • If you calculate service as of End of Current Month, the plan accrues through the end of that month. For example, with an Accrue Through Date of 2/12/2025, it accrues through 2/28/2025.

NOTE: Note: If you select End of Current Month, the best practice is to use a Lump Sum calculation method with a Monthly accrual period. This lets you accrue time through the month’s end, granting each qualified employee their time off based on seniority.

    • If you calculate service as of Previous Plan Year-End, the plan accrues through the prior year-end and doesn’t accrue time for the current year. For example, with an annual plan and Accrue Time run on 2/12/2025, it accrues through 12/31/2024.

  • If you calculate service as of Current Plan Year-End, the plan accrues through the end of the current year. For example, with an annual plan and Accrue Time on 2/12/2025, it accrues through 12/31/2025.

NOTE: For Previous or Current Plan Year-End service settings, best practice is to use the Lump Sum calculation method in the Attendance Plan Detail (General tab).
