What order do you set up a Job, Customer, and Contract in?

The recommended order for setting up a Job, Customer, and Contract is as follows:

  • Set up the Accounts Receivable Customer. For information on how to set up a customer in AR, please see the link below.
  • Set up the Job in Job Cost.  For information on how to set up a job in JC, please see the link below.
  • Set up the Contract in Contracts.  For information on how to set up a contract in CN, please see the link below.

You can also use the job set up wizard which is found at Sage 300 CRE Desktop:

    • Version 15.1 and older: Tasks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Job cost, Job Central.
    • Version 16.1 and later: Applications, Job Cost, Job Central.
