Error: "GL Master file in use"

Summary

When closing a period or fiscal year in Sage 300 CRE General Ledger, you receive a message that the GL Master file is in use.

Cause

The General Ledger Master file is in use by another task or application.

When processing General Ledger Tasks, Close Current Period or Close Fiscal Year, all users must exit Sage 300 CRE and any interfacing applications.

Resolution

  1. Have all users exit the tasks in all the Sage applications.
  2. If the error still occurs, check for a locked GL Master file.
