Is there an financial statement that shows current year compared to previous year?

This method is a suggested workaround. There is no guarantee that the data will be reflected correctly. You must verify that the information displayed is correct.

If the information does not display correctly, a custom financial statement may be necessary. Please contact your Sage Consultant for help in creating a custom statement.

CAUTION: 

There is not a default statement that shows a side by side comparison of current and previous year.

Workaround:

Append the default Current balance column with an Balance 1 Year ago (Balance fields) column and a 1 Year Ago Activity column.

Income Statement:

1. Launch Financial Statement Designer.
2. Select File, Open
3. In the Open Statement Design window, double click on IncSAccr.FSD.
4. With the statement open, click File, Save As.
5. Type a unique name for the design in the File Name area.
6. Click Save.
7. In the design, double-click the title Current Balance.
8. In the Column Options -- Column 4 window, click the button Append.
9. In the Insert Columns window, make sure the Field Type on the right is set to Balance Fields.
10. In the list, scroll down to and highlight Balance 1 Year Ago and click the Add button, then the Done button.
11. With the Column Options -- Column 5 window open, click Append.
12. Verify the Field type is still Balance Fields, and then scroll to and highlight 1 Year Ago Activity then click the Add button, and then the Done button.
13. Click OK.
14. Click File, Save, then File, Close.

Balance Sheet:

1. Launch Financial Statement Designer.
2. Select File, Open.
3. Select the BalSAccr.FSD.
4. Repeat the steps above with the exception of Steps 10 and 11. This will append the balance sheet with only Balance 1 Year Ago column.
