How to upgrade Sage 100 Contractor

How to upgrade Sage 100 Contractor software and data to the latest version.

Check system requirements and OS compatibility before installing the Sage 100 Contractor update.
Log all users out of Sage 100 Contractor.
Connect to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor as an SQL server administrator.
For each company in Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor, create a current backup.
Download the latest Sage 100 Contractor installation file.
Copy the Sage 100 Contractor installation file to a shared network drive for workstation updates.
Disable your antivirus software.
Locate and right-click on the Sage 100 Contractor setup.exe file (Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe) and choose Run as administrator.
Select Sage 100 Contractor, License Administration, Database Administration, and Sage Advisor Update when the installation wizard appears.
On the Sage 100 Contractor database server, install all components. On a Terminal Server, install only Sage 100 Contractor.

Start Database Administration after the Sage 100 Contractor update.
When the Connect to SQL Server dialog appears, choose Connect.
On the left, choose Upgrade Company Databases.
The SQL database version is above the company list.
The Sage 100 Contractor version is on the top right.
Select companies on the right. Upgrade frequently used databases first to minimize downtime.
After making your selection, click Upgrade Database.
After the upgrade, test it by opening Sage 100 Contractor on the server and accessing the company.
If you disabled the antivirus software, re-activate it.
After upgrading the company databases, the workstations will require the latest software version to open them.
NOTE: Company databases are upgraded. They can’t be downgraded. For example, a company can be upgraded from 27.1.1.0020 to 27.2.1.0002 but it can't be reverted back to the earlier version once upgraded.

Log in to the workstation as a local computer administrator.
Download the latest Sage 100 Contractor installation file.
Temporarily disable the workstation’s antivirus software.
From the Downloads folder on the computer, right-click Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe.
Choose Run as administrator.
An installation wizard appears. When you see Select installation options, choose only Sage 100 Contractor.
When the upgrade finishes, test it by opening Sage 100 Contractor and opening a current company.
After installation, users can reopen Sage 100 Contractor and log in. The new version number is under Home and Resources, About Sage 100 Contractor.
If you disabled the antivirus software, re-activate it.
