Created on  | Last modified on

How to resolve the error message "File System Error 43 in filename" when trying to open a company shared in the cloud with Remote Data Access.

Note: Due to the potential instability of Wi-Fi connections, we recommended that you use a hard-wired connection to access the Sage Drive company. If the error is happening on only one machine, proceed to Section 2.

Note: If using Office 365 or Automatic backups, if the folder name changes then you will have to re-setup the Mic 365 and automatic backups.

Section 1 - Rebase from a machine that can still open the company

  1. Select Help, Support Utilities, and then select Rebase Remote Data Access Company
  2. Click Close on the successfully uploaded to Remote Data Access message.
  3. Verify that the company opens without error on the other computer(s).

Section 2 - Re-download the company

Note: Only perform this on the computer that is receiving the error. If all users are receiving the error except for one, the one user who can access the company will need to perform a rebase.

  1. On the computer with the issue, close Sage 50 and browse to the data path. Follow How to find data path and program path if you do not know.
  2. Right-click the company directory in question, and then select Cut.
  3. Right-click the desktop, and then select Paste.
  4. Open Sage 50 and select File, Connect to a Shared Company.
  5. Sign in with your Sage account email.
  6. Select the company and follow the on-screen prompts to re-download the company.
  7. Verify that the company opens without error.
