CAUTION: This solution requires advanced knowledge of your network. Contact your system administrator for assistance. Modifying Windows security incorrectly can severely affect system operations. Sage is not responsible for operation issues caused by incorrectly modifying your Windows security. Always create a backup of your data before proceeding with advanced solutions. 

 

  • These Components can also be found on the accounting server at \\Server\Timberline Office\9.5\Accounting\Wininst\Prerequisites\
  • Typically, you should only install Actian through the Install.exe option. When you install through Install.exe, Actian will lay down all required components.
  • Due to the activation requirements of Actian, you must install Sage Estimating or Sage 300 CRE on any Estimating file server. In the past, Estimating file servers functioned with only Actian being installed, but this changed in versions 13.1 and higher.

 

  1. Uninstall Actian Client or Actian Server Engine in Programs and Features.
  2. Follow the installation Option 1 for Client Engine or Option 2 for Server Engine

 

Option 1: Install Actian Client Engine

  1. Pre PSQL Install\PrePSQLInstall.exe (Runs silently, you will not be able to see when it completes but you can monitor in Task Manager)
  2. Pervasive PSQL v12 Client Edition (x86)\SetupClient32_x86.exe
  3. Pervasive PSQL v12 Client Patch (x86)\PSQLv12Patch_Client32_x86.msp
  4. Post PSQL Install\PostPSQLInstall.exe (Runs silently, you will not be able to see when it completes but you can monitor in Task Manager)
  5. Skip to Important section below.

Option 2: Install Actian Server Engine

  1. Pre PSQL Install\PrePSQLInstall.exe (Runs silently, you will not be able to see when it completes but you can monitor in Task Manager)
  2. Pervasive PSQL v12 SP1 Server Edition (x64)\SetupServer64_x64.exe
  3. Pervasive PSQL v12 Server Patch SP1 (x64)\PSQLv12Patch_Server64_x64.msp
  4. Post PSQL64 Install\PostPSQL64Install.exe (Runs silently, you will not be able to see when it completes but you can monitor in Task Manager)
  5. Continue to Important section below

IMPORTANT: For ALL Options above - after running the PostPSQL do the following to avoid any license service errors (always right click and Run as Administrator):

  1. Under the prerequisites forlder go in to Pervasive License Monitoring Service and run PSQLLMInst (Runs silently, you will not be able to see when it completes but you can monitor in Task Manager)
  2. Go to services.msc (Windows Key+R and then type in services.msc), Sage Pervasive License Service L2 – highlight it and click start
  3. Go to Sage Administration folder off All Programs and do right click run as admin on Sage System Verifier, scan and make sure it completes – log in to Sage
