Revenue and Expense Amounts Not Transferred to Retained Earnings

Summary

In Sage 300, Retained Earnings won't include revenue and expense amounts until you create a new fiscal year.

Cause

You haven't run G/L Periodic Processing, Create New Year.

Resolution

To transfer revenue and expense amounts to Retained Earnings, create a new fiscal year.

CAUTION:

Create a full backup of the company database

  1. Open General Ledger, G/L Periodic Processing, then Create New Year.
  2. Click Process.

After the process finishes, the Retained Earnings account includes the revenue and expense amounts from the previous year.
