Customized Standard reports missing after update to 2025.1 for the Single User and Network editions of Sage Fixed Assets Depreciation and Tracking
This may appear as "Error loading Template Definition file".
Note: This is an issue in the Single User and Network products only. It doesn’t affect Premier Depreciation
Perform the database conversion of the 2024.1 data again, after downloading and copying the updated default database:
- Close the Sage Fixed Assets program.
- Download DefaultDB20251.zip
- Right-click the downloaded zip file and select Properties.
- Check the Unblock box and click Apply and OK. If you see the Unblock option, you must select it before extracting
NOTE: If the Unblock box isn't there, move on to the next step
- Extract the Default.db from the downloaded zip. The actual date of the database will be 1/14/2025 when extracted.
- For Single user: Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Fixed Assets\Common Files, rename the existing Default.db to .old and copy the extracted Default.db to the same location
- For the Network product on the server: Browse to C:\SFAServ\Common, rename the existing Default.db to .old and copy the extracted Default.db to the same location
- Convert the system-created pre-conversion copy of your databases again:
- Note: If you don't know your database location, see Where is my database? for more information.
NOTE: The following assumes you haven't done any new work in the company since conversion - For Single User:
- Go to your database location, (the default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Fixed Assets\Depreciation\Data) there you’ll find a file which is <database name>.79.old. This is the pre-conversion copy of the database.
- Rename your newly converted database <database name>.bdb to .bad and delete the .LOG and the 79.LOG files with the same name as the database.
- Rename the <database name>.79.old to <database name>.bdb.
- Open the Single User program and convert the database. See How do I convert data? for details.
- For the Network product on the server:
- Go to your database location, the default location is C:\SFAServ\Data. There you’ll find a file which is <database name>.79.old. This is the pre-conversion copy of the database.
- Rename your newly converted database <database name>.bdb to <database name>.bad and delete the LOG and the 79.LOG files with the same name as the database,
- Rename the <database name>.79.old to <database name>.bdb.
- Open the Database Utility - Network Depreciation & Tracking as Administrator and click Convert. See How do I convert data? for details.
Alternate Workaround:
- If a company backup was taken before the 2025.1 update, restoring from the 2024.1 BBK file will restore the Standard and Customized Standard reports. A copy of the database won’t work
